With the growing complexity of Playfair’s immigration business operations, the firm’s IT infrastructure, based on Microsoft’s Small Business Server 2011, was struggling to support its staff members that worked closely with both Federal Government departments and Customers.
This meant that Playfair’s key IT priorities involved improving customer information and communication – as well as stabilising and improving its core business systems. The firm wanted to de-risk its IT environment and create a new, flexible, platform to enable more structured information management, across its offices. bluesource managed the design and migration of Playfair’s systems and data to Office 365’s Exchange on-line, along with moving public folders to a shared mailbox solution for emails, and enabling Active Directory integration for single sign on. The Office 365 solution consisted of Microsoft Exchange 2013, SharePoint, Skype and Yammer – all configured to Playfair’s requirements. bluesource planned and delivered all aspects of the migration process – ensuring that there was no operational downtime, that the information was protected and maintained an unbroken chain-of-custody. bluesource also provided a thorough training and user adoption programme for Playfair’s staff.
